In a survey nearly half of all Australians agreed to the fact that they will go out of their way to search for a bargain. No wonder many big brand shopping centers have focused their marketing strategy around attracting more discount hungry clientele.<\/p>\n

Below is the list of ten popular retail shops in Australia, however since not all shopping centers appeal to same crowd, the retail shops below are not listed in any particular order. Nevertheless you are going to see them a lot when in Australia.<\/p>\n


\n1. Myer<\/strong><\/p>\n

Myer is an up-market Australian department store chain and is David Jones\u2019s one of the biggest competitor. The store retails broad range of products across women\u2019s, kid\u2019s and men\u2019s clothing and accessories.<\/p>\n

2. Kmart<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is not exactly a supermarket or departmental store, yet it sells plenty of stuffs including women\u2019s clothing, children\u2019s clothing, men\u2019s clothing, toys, garden equipments, camping equipments, stationary, pharmaceuticals, kitchen appliances, car accessories and electrical goods. Visitors coming down from U.S. to Australia will find Kmart quite familiar.<\/p>\n

As the name suggests they are everything office store. You are sure to find almost everything you may possibly need for your office, in fact name it and you will find it here.<\/p>\n

7. Smiggle

This is possibly the best place to shop for accessories if you are the kind of person who likes their pencil case to match their pencil sharpener and their eraser to compliment them both, and want everything to be in specific shade of pink.<\/p>\n

8. The Good Guys<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is an electrical superstore, in case you are looking out for computers, TV, refrigerators, microwaves, portable heaters and air conditioners. The Good Guys have all the electrical appliances you may need for your home.<\/p>\n


\n9. Dick Smith<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is also an electrical superstore just like The Good Guys, except that they don\u2019t sell white goods. They are more kind of specialized in specialist stuffs such as electrical components like diodes, connectors and soldering irons.<\/p>\n

10. JB Hi-Fi<\/strong><\/p>\n
